Job description
University College Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Lecturer to teach our Further Education (FE) Early Years and Education programmes from Level 1 – 3, including T Level. You will join a committed team of professionals with a range of skills and experience from the Early Years and Education sector, both with experience of teaching FE and working in industry. We are based in central Birmingham and have excellent facilities within the institution. Our team benefits from an Early Years simulation suite, which has a fully functioning kitchen, baby changing room, sensory room, and nursery area. This allows students and lecturers to work together in an authentic environment, preparing and refining skills for practice.
You will have previous experience teaching in FE or evidence of coaching or mentoring in a professional setting; this will be supported by industry experience working with children and/or young people.
You will hold a minimum level 3 qualification and a teaching qualification or be willing to achieve one supported by the University.
In addition, we welcome candidates who have experience in assessing or an interest in working towards the qualification, as assessing will form part of this role. This will involve visiting students on placement as part of your working week and assessing them against programme criteria. You will be highly organised, with an eye for quality to ensure that our programmes maintain consistently high standards, with the ability to engage our FE students to ensure that they reach their full potential.
